The best guitarist I have ever witnessed.  Jim Donovan, Rusted Root/Santana

Take a fresh look at some familiar works in the permanent collection through the lens of music. Chuck Olson, abstractionist painter and professor of art at St. Francis University and Paolo Schianchi, guitar virtuoso from Parma, Italy, will share their ideas about relationships in visual art and music. Begin and end the event with short performances by Schianchi in front of Whistler’s painting Arrangement in Black: Portrait of Señor Pablo de Sarasate. In between, join in the discussion on a short tour of the galleries that will close on April 30 for reinstallation and will reopen in an all new configuration in September.
