Congratulations to Film Festival Winners

July 20, 2010

Congratulations to the filmmakers of A Brief History of Daily Transactions. This film garnered the most votes during the first-ever Two-Minute Film Festival at Carnegie Museum of Art, held on Thursday, July 15. Filmmakers Cecilia Beltrao, Matthias Grabmair, and Zumrut Imamoglu will receive complimentary Carnegie Museums of Pittsburgh memberships for their winning entry.

More than 80 filmmakers from 19 states submitted films—two minutes or less in length—for the festival. More than 200 people attended the screening of the 38 selected films held in the museum’s outdoor Sculpture Court and enjoyed cocktails and picnic food as part of a late-night Culture Club. Everyone who attended was given a complete list of films and encouraged to vote for their favorite.

Coming in second place was Wyoming by Jason Georgiades of Pittsburgh followed by A Brief History of The National Road by Amanda Barber with her students of Hopwood, PA; On The Way to The Theatre, We Egged A Trans Am by Nathaniel Sullivan of Syracuse, NY; First Firing by Kelly Oliver and Keary Rosen of Raritan, NJ; and Fantastica by Bobbi Williams of Pittsburgh.

Thank you to all the filmmakers for their fine work and to everyone who attended the festival for making the evening such a success.
